MENS BOWLS NEWS 21/09/2025
Congratulations to our Finalists in the Major Singles Blayne Cook and Jeff Holloway. There were some great bowls played in this game by both players however Blayne had an outstanding game to take the 2025-2026 Championship, well played Blayno!
Due to late withdrawals, we require four sides to fill the Bob Fowler and Kerry McCarthy Memorial Triples on September 27 & 28.
The Club Singles nominations are now open and available to enter on Bowlslink and the list on our noticeboard. Nominations will close on September 27 and a draw done on September 28. The first rounds will be November 2nd giving players 5 weekends to arrange their 1st round before the scheduled commencement date.
On Saturday evenings from 6:30pm we are holding our Saturday’s Atomic Shoot Out Challenge. For a $2.00 Entry and bowling with Glow in the Dark Bowls from corner to corner of the green to a one metre diameter target you have a chance to win the current Jackpot which stands at $1176.00 and growing each week.

This will be my last Newsletter until November good bowling to all.
At the conclusion of the 2025 Bob Fowler & Kerry McCarthy Memorial Triples it was great to see many of Bob and Kerry’s mates and the McCarthy family members gather at South Tamworth Bowling Club to play the game of lawn bowls in Honour of these two Champions of South Bowlo. On a personal note, I would like to thank our Green Keepers Mick and Blayne for the preparation of our greens. Thank you to our Umpire Dave Herbert for his much-valued assistance. Thank you to our Board Members and Ceo Matt Hill for their continued support of myself and the team to run this auspicious event. Thank you to the Bar Staff and Kitchen Staff for their professionalism and quality of service they provide which makes this a memorable event for our members and visitors.

LADIES BOWLS NEWS 21ST SEPTEMBER 2025
A Minor Singles game was played on Tuesday 16th September between Ronny Wood and Cindy Harding, Ronny the eventual winner 25 to 16. Many Thanks to Joan Bailey for coming in to mark this game. Also Thank you to Chris Myers for umpiring and talking to the girls after the game with her advice, so very helpful to our up-and-coming players.
A Minor Singles game is set down for Tuesday23rd September between Phyllis Key and Pat Girvan cards called at 9.45 for a 10am start. Marker TBA. Any offers would be greatly appreciated.
Another game of Minor Singles will be played on Thursday25th September between Ronny Wood and Sandra Mitchell cards called at 9.45 for a 10.am start. Marker Sue Ninness.
The Final of the Club Championship Singles that was to be played on Saturday 20th September was postponed due to rain. Another date TBA.
