MENS BOWLS NEWS 15/04/2024
All the very best to our young champion junior Coen Schroeder as he contests the 2023/2024 NSW State Junior Championships. Coen and Jaiden Elliott are on live stream in the pairs on Monday morning.
Last week we hosted the 2024 Veterans Inter Zone with seven Zones represented as 96 Bowlers battled it out for the 2024 Trophy. Zone 2 were victorious over Zone 10 in the Inter Zone Final. With Live Stream by Bowls NSW providing YouTube and face book coverage and local media covering the event at South Tamworth Bowling Club which was widely praised by players and officials. A huge thank you to our Umpires volunteers, BBQ Attendants, Bar Staff and especially our Kitchen Staff for their contributions to successfully host these Championships.
Following the completion of round 4 in Open Pennants. Our 3’s are in second place with a bye round and round 6 to play against North Tamworth. The 4’s had a good win against West Tamworth at West and with 2 rounds remaining are a chance if they take two victories. Our 5’s are still on top of the ladder in their section winning one of the two games played over the weekend at Inverell against Sporties keeping them in the hunt. The 6’s have a bye round and a round against North Tamworth remaining and require the win against them for a chance. Our 7’s are playing for the pride of the club and we are all behind them.
The Autumn Open Pairs is on this Thursday.
The 2023-24 Minor Triples and 2024-25 Major Pairs are open and the Nomination sheets are on the noticeboard.

The Nomination form for the remaining competition, Minor Singles, is on the Noticeboard. Please see Match if you are not sure if you are eligible to play. If we do not get enough entries, then it may not be played this year.
There will not be an end date for any of the competitions but due to the full calendar and to accommodate our workers play days may need to be Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday am or pm. Once a game has been carded it can be played on or before the organised date if it does not suit all players. Refer to conditions of play. PROPOSED start date will be as follows:

The Autumn Open Pairs is being held Thursday 18th April. All details are on the Men’s Noticeboard. Entries have now closed.
The BPL Cup qualifier is being held at South Tamworth Bowling Club on Sunday 21st April. For more information contact the club.
Champion of Club Champion Pairs sectional (Carol White and Chris Myers) is being held at St Johns Park Bowling Club from 29th – 30th April. The Finals Series from 1st May – 3rd May.
The draws for the 2024 Women’s State Carnival which is being held from 6th – 10th May are now on Bowlslink.
Champion of Club Champion Singles sectional (Chris Myers) is being held at Cabramatta Bowling Club on 13th May. The Finals Series from 14th – 16th May
Division 1 Ladies Pennants will be held in Charlestown/Lambton from 21st-23rd May.
Entries have closed for the 2024 Australian Open which is being held on the Gold Coast from 8th-21st June. For those who have entered, the draws will be on Bowlslink in due course.
